Franklin & Bash Season 3 Review “Control” – Someone’s in Deep Water Now

Franklin & Bash Season 3 Episode 7 Control (5)

In this episode of Franklin & Bash, called “Control,” the boys deal with a pretty mean heckler, while Damien goes out for a simple game of golf that turns into something very serious.

Okay, so I’m just going to say this first and get it out of the way. Remember how I wasn’t sure how I felt about Rachel? Well, I think this episode tipped me closer to the “dislike” side of the scale. The funny thing is though, she didn’t really do anything that I hated. No, what she did do was bring scenes that had me alternately yawning, wanting to change the channel or start checking my Facebook messages. Every time the episode flipped over to her courtroom, I discovered that I couldn’t care less what was happening over there and I was just counting the minutes until we got back to the boys or Damien’s story. Perhaps that will change, but for now, I’m definitely starting to dislike her.

The boys’ story was pretty funny this week with the heckler and I really enjoyed them heckling the courtroom from their car. But I think Damien got the most interesting story in this one. It was funny how they kept the best part until the very end. All through the episode I was enjoying watching Damien play golf with that old fart and slowly lose his temper. When he finally lost it, I wanted to cheer and I figured that would be the end of the story. Especially when the judge turned around and told Damien that he’d been waiting for that all along and would indeed recommend him to the judge’s chair.

Ah, but the episode wasn’t done with us quite yet. That’s when it brought out the bigger storyline and gave us Damien standing over a dead guy with a bloody club in his hand. Now of course we all know he didn’t do it, but I still cannot wait to see him represented by Peter and Jared. It’s so delicious I can hardly stand it and I’m now counting the days until the next episode.

My favorite bits..

Jared singing “Rangel loves to yodel!” while Peter practically tackled him into the elevator.

Ruined cow semen? Didn’t those guys open Coachella a couple years ago.

Dang that Steam song is in my head, too.

“I tend to do the big head jokes around here.”

“Attention young lawyers!… Actually not so young.”

Damien stopping his little celebratory dance until after he’d passed the people in the hallway.

The boys heckling the courtroom from their car.

“I’m not a ventriloquist. At least not professionally.”

Trying really hard to listen to Stanton, but finding it completely impossible as Jared’s voice kept saying things like “You’re getting warmer! Nope, I’m not there!” in the background.

“Franklin and who? Those don’t even sound like real names!”

Damien asking the judge if him holding his club was wrong, because he was unfamiliar with how the judge held his “Johnson.”

Damien getting heckled by the judge.

“I still can’t believe we lost.”
“Really? I’m always more surprised when we win.”

Wanting to hug Peter after he and Charlie broke up.

The boys running when they realized Zac wasn’t going to just use his words against Teddy.

Jared encouraging Peter to be the badass lawyer to keep Charlie.

Jared shaking his head silently after saying that Peter was an amazing baseball player.

“Mr. Bash, are you hitting on the defendant?”

Peter and Charlie discussing their tree and their relationship in court.

Damien calling the judge “Ass-hat.” That. Was. Awesome.

Damien suggesting that judge better back off if he wanted to live.

“Sorry about the ‘ass-hat.'”
“I like ‘ass-hat,’ it’s better than ‘ass-jacket.'”

Peter trying to hit those balls and nearly killing himself in the process. And the look on his face when Jared did it on the first try.

Stanton walking up on Damien and a bloody club. Oh man, can it be next week already??
