‘Person of Interest’ Season 3: Amy Acker Upped To Series Regular July 21, 2013 News, Person of Interest Amy Acker will no longer be recurring on Person of Interest; news broke at Comic-Con that the fan favorite has been promoted to series regular for season three. Acker has played the expert cyber hacker Root since season one when she was introduced as a foil for Finch (Michael Emerson), but sadly the budding criminal mastermind found herself locked in a mental institution. However, by the end of season two Root was on the loose and the Machine had gone missing. Now that Acker is a regular cast member, expect Root to have plenty of opportunities to wreak havoc in the season to come. Acker is best known for her roles on Angel, Alias and Dollhouse. She was most recently seen in Joss Whedon’s modern film retelling of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. Are you eager to see more of Root?
