‘Phineas and Ferb’ Special Star Wars Crossover Episode Set For 2014

First they got to hang out with The Avengers, now Phineas and Ferb are going to get the chance to break out their lightsabers (or, knowing them, invent some new and improved lightsabers). Disney announced today during the series’ Comic-Con panel that a special one-hour event episode will place the Phineas and Ferb characters within the world of Star Wars is set to air in 2014.

“May The ‘Ferb’ Be With You and with all of us who for decades have dreamt of a chance to work with the great characters and stories of Star Wars,” co-creator and executive producer Dan Povenmire told the crowd at San Diego.

The special episode will begin in summer on Tatooine where Phineas and Ferb live one moisture farm over from Luke Skywalker’s. The brothers will have to take time out from their normal space summertime fun when the plans for blowing up the Death Star fall into their hands and they find themselves in the middle of a global rebellion. Together they go in search for a pilot to take them to the rebels, but their quest is hampered by Candace, who is busy pursuing them to take back the plans. Don’t worry about good old Dr. Doofenshmirtz getting left out of the action. He’ll be busy on the Death Star as Darth Enshmirtz who creates a “Sith-inator.” Meanwhile, Agent P is forced to go undercover to stop the low level Darth from wreaking havoc.

Do you think the crossover sounds exciting or was it enough for the boys to get their superhero on?

The episode will air on Disney and Disney XD in 2014.
