2013 Primetime Emmy Nominees July 18, 2013 Featured, News The 65th Primetime Emmy nominations were revealed early this morning by Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul and this year’s Emmy host Neil Patrick Harris (subbing in for an absent House of Cards‘ Kate Mara). As usual, the nominations were a mixed bag filled with snubs (no New Girl, Academy, really?) and surprises (Netflix is feeling the love this morning). As for the biggest nomination winner on the scripted side of the categories, that distinction goes to HBO’s fantasy juggernaut Game of Thrones with 17 total nominations (including three for acting this year), with 30 Rock dominating on the comedy side with 13 total nominations. Emmy favorite Modern Family was right behind 30 Rock with 12, even though two-time Emmy winner Eric Stonestreet dropped out of the Supporting Actor in a Comedy category after taking home last year’s trophy. The 2013 Emmy telecast will air Sunday, September 22nd on CBS at 8ET/5PT. See below for a full list of the major awards and to check out the rest of the nominees head over to the official Emmy website. Did your favorites make the cut?
