Nickelodeon Orders Additional Episodes Of ‘Sam & Cat’

Nickelodeon has upped their episode order for Sam & Cat, picking up an additional 20 episodes of the freshman series. Russell Hicks, the president of Content Development and Production at Nickelodeon, broke the news. “Kids have already shown their love for Jennette and Ariana’s crazy adventures and comedic talent in Sam & Cat,” said Hicks. “We are thrilled to be delivering even more of their wild antics from this successful series.”

‘Sam & Cat’ has quickly become the network’s number-one live-action series with an average of 3.7 million total viewers tuning in each week. The teen comedy follows actresses Jennette McCurdy (iCarly) and Ariana Grande (Victorious) as best friends who move in together and start a babysitting service. The series comes from creator Dan Schneider (iCarly,Drake & Josh).

Season one of the show will feature special guest stars Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams of ‘Laverne & Shirley’ fame and Sophia Grace and Rosie of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ who plan to return in their respective roles as Gwen and Ruby. ‘Sam & Cat’ airs on Saturdays at 8:00 p.m.
