‘Glee’ Season 5 Taps News Series Regulars

Glee’s fifth season will undergo some significant casting changes, according to TV Line. The series has tapped a string of new regulars now that original cast members Heather Morris (who plays Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Dianna Agron (Quinn) and Harry Shum, Jr. (Mike) are all set to leave the series behind. The gang may however, appear in guest roles during the new year. The dramatic casting changes were a given as Puck, Mercedes and Mike graduated back in season 3. Morris’ character graduated last season.

Season five of the musical drama will now focus in on a new class that includes actors Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty), Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Alex Newell (Unique). All five performers have now been bumped to series regulars on the show. Word on what is to come in terms of the storyline is still unknown with show runners keeping the details under wraps. ‘Glee’ has been renewed by Fox through season six. The show is scheduled to return this fall on Fox, September 19 at 8:30pm est.
