‘Fleming’ Teaser Reveals First Look at Dominic Cooper as the Man Who Created James Bond

We all know Bond, James Bond, but in a new four-part miniseries co-production from Sky Atlantic and BBC America we’re about to meet the man behind the spy, Ian Fleming. Sky Atlantic released the first teaser for the upcoming Fleming and it paints a portrait of the author that is as delightfully roguish as his iconic creation.

Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger, History Boys) stars as Fleming at a time when the author found himself caught up in the war-torn world of London, circa World War II. With his army career over, the author was living off of his rich family and indulging in women, alcohol and erotic fiction– all exploits that surely would have made Bond proud. Soon though the Naval Intelligence office came calling and the man behind the most famous fictional spy in history became the mastermind for many of the most brilliant counterintelligence operations against the Nazis.

In addition to Cooper, Fleming will also star Laura Pulver (Sherlock), Annabelle Wallis (Pan Am), Lesley Manville (Vera Drake), Anna Chancellor (The Hour), Samuel West (Van Helsing) and Rupert Evan (Hellboy).

Watch the teaser below. Do you think the man behind Bond will be as interesting as the super spy himself?

Fleming is set to air on Sky Atlantic later this year, and will eventually air as part of BBC America’s Dramaville stateside.
