Lifetime’s ‘Witches of East End’ Casts Eric Winter

Lifetime’s new series Witches of East End – that is set to air in its freshman season this fall – has cast ‘Mentalist’ and ‘Brothers & Sisters’ actor Eric Winter. According to TV Line, Winters has been tapped to fill the void left behind by Gossip Girl‘s Patrick Heusinger.

Heusinger was slated to portray the regular role of Dash, but left due to creative reasons. Now Winter will take on the role of the fiancé of lead actress Jenna Dewan-Tatum‘s character. ‘Witches of East End’ follows Dewan in the role of Freya, the daughter of Joanna Beauchamp (Julia Ormond). ‘American Dreams’ actress Rachel Boston will also star as Tatum’s sister. Both are unaware that they are both their family’s next generation of witches. Mädchen Amick will play the role of as Joanna’s sister Wendy.

‘Witches of East End’ received a 10-episode pick-up from the Lifetime network this past January. Maggie Friedman, whose credits include ABC’s ‘Eastwick’, will serve as showrunner of the series.

Eric Winter brings with him credits that include ‘GCB’, ‘Scent of the Missing’, ‘CSI: Miami’, ‘Moonlight’, ‘Rizzoli & Isles’, ‘The Ugly Truth’, Single with Parents’, ‘Wildfire’, ‘Pepper Dennis’, ‘Days of Our Lives’, ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ and ‘South Beach’.
