Coming Up on Teen Wolf Season 3

teen wolf season 3 review

If you’re as addicted to MTV’s Teen Wolf as I am, then you’re probably really happy the show returns tonight, June 3rd, for its third season at 10pm.

I got a chance to watch the first two episode of this new season early and yes, it’s as exciting and we thought it would be. But before I get ahead of myself, let’s take a quick look at where we left off and to do that, I will direct you to Jocelyn’s great article Previously On Teen Wolf.

Done? Ok good, now let’s get to the interesting part.

Coming Up on Teen Wolf

The new season starts four months after the events of the finale and here are a few things you can expect.

Welcome Back

What I loved about the first episode, entitled “Tattoo,” is that it slowly reintroduces us to the characters we love and find out what they have been up to the last few months. And that even bleeds into the second episode which marks the return of some more characters we love.

They found a great way to give us what we wanted, without overwhelming us with too much information. It’s almost a bit of teasing because you get one or two characters at a time as the episode moves along. But it certainly makes for some interesting episodes.

And for those of you wondering how the exit of Colton Haynes, who played Jackson, from the show affects this season, well you’ll definitely get an explanation within 10 minutes of the premiere.

Peter’s Back

As I mentioned above, this season we get the return of quite a few characters including Peter Hale, whom executive producer, Jeff Davis, told us at WonderCon would become more of an ally this season.

Hale returns in episode 2 titled “Chaos Rising” and it certainly looks like he could be great help this season. Although I might miss his evil side a bit.

There Are Some New Alphas In Town

This is no secret, the Alphas are here. In fact, it’s a whole pack of Alphas, which certainly doesn’t sound very good for our characters. In fact, you’ll find out how bad this could be within 5 minutes of the premiere. These guys are SCARY!! AND super fast! Seriously, that opening was pretty awesome and will put you right back in the Teen Wolf mood.

Oh and I have one word for you: Twins!

Erica and Boyd

Don’t worry, Derek hasn’t forgotten about Erica and Boyd, in fact he’s looking for them and we’ll find out what happened to them by the end of the second episode.

This leads me to talk about some of the surprises this season brings. As I mentioned, we do get a few questions answered, but of course it wouldn’t be Teen Wolf, if there weren’t some new mysteries too. In fact, one of these mysteries involves Erica and Boyd and what happened to them.

And that’s not all, the second episode ends on something very familiar and will leave you to ponder: “Now what?”

The Fun Is Back

But of course, in the midst of all this mystery, fight and drama, there is always time for some fun and if you enjoy Teen Wolf‘s banter and humor, there is plenty more of that this season. Courtesy of Stiles’ witty lines and more.
