FX Releases ‘The Bridge’ Full-Length Trailer

The first trailer for FX’s upcoming Mexico/U.S. border drama The Bridge has arrived, and spoiler alert: it looks good. Really good.

Based on the Scandinavian series Bron, The Bridge stars Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) and Demian Bichir (A Better Life) as a pair of detectives, one from the U.S. and the other from Mexico, who are forced to work together when a body is found on the bridge that crosses the El Paso-Ciudad Juarez border. The trailer (embedded below) showcases the detectives’ first meeting, and teases the uneasy partnership that forms between them. At first glance they appear to be quite the odd couple with Kruger playing the sort of tough-as-nails, no-nonsense character who fights over who gets to work a homicide while Bichir is more of the easygoing one who gets warned about his new partner’s “interesting” personality.

The trailer also delves into the dark nature of the case. The result is another show that at least seems to fit right into the gritty character drama niche that FX has built a brand around.

In addition to Kruger and Bichir, The Bridge also stars Annabeth Gish (The X-Files), Thomas M. Wright (Top of the Lake) and Ted Levine (Monk).

The Bridge premieres July 10th at 10PM on FX.
