Supernatural Chat: Season 8 Finale Previews and Predictions

Supernatural season 8 finale - Sacrifice

Hey there Supernatural fans! I can’t believe that we are only a day away from the season 8 finale. I always feel the same way at the end of another season: excited for the finale and dreading the hellatus.

Things has definitely been boiling up all season and I thought I’d give you guys a preview of the finale, as well as a few predictions of what I think could happen in the episode. Afterwards, I want to hear what you guys are predicting will happen in the finale.

Supernatural Season 8 Finale Preview

Let’s break this episode down bit by bit, shall we? First up, here’s the synopsis from the CW.

WHAT MUST SAM, DEAN AND CASTIEL SACRIFICE TO FOREVER SEAL HELL? – With Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) poised to undo all the good they’ve ever done as hunters, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) find themselves cornered. But with Kevin’s (guest star Osric Chau) help, the Winchester brothers bound into one last play against The Demon King. Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong) initiates a plan with Castiel (Misha Collins) to take on Naomi (guest star Amanda Tapping) and the bureaucracy of Heaven. Alaina Huffman and Kim Rhodes also guest star. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver.

Next up, here’s the preview for the episode.

Here are a few things we know from watching the video:

– Sam feels like they’re going to win.

– Dean and Sam capture Crowley and he looks none too pleased about it.

– Naomi is either going to capture Metatron or could it be that we’re seeing evidence that she’s been in control of him this whole time?

– Abaddon is back and she wants to talk about a regime change. Could we be getting a brand new villain for next season?

And now, let’s take a look at a clip from the episode.

Here are a few things we know from watching the clip:

– Dean is always interested in playing a little game of “you show me yours and I’ll show you mine.”
– Crowley’s contract is at least 10-feet long, but no of course there’s no hidden agendas in it. Don’t be silly, Dean.
– The contract basically says they swap tablets, the boys stop the Trials and Crowley stops killing all the people they’ve ever saved.
– Dean is ready to sign the contract himself, but he’s not ready to let Sam anywhere near it.

Supernatural Season 8 Finale Predictions

Now that we’ve seen the synopsis and the clips, it’s time for me to throw some theories out and see what I think could happen in the episode. I’ll be curious to see what, if any, of my predictions come out right.

1. Abaddon will be next season’s Big Bad. I mean she said as much in the preview clip and how awesome would it be to have another female villain? Especially if Naomi somehow sticks around – I’d love to see those two end up going head to head.

2. Crowley will be cured. Okay, yeah this one is pretty out there – and yes, it would sort of suck not to have Crowley as the villain because he plays one so well – but how cool would it be if Sam and Dean could actually do it? Plus, it is part of the Trials, right?

3. The boys will close the Gates of Hell, and Cas will also shut down the Gates of Heaven, too. I think this is actually pretty possible and it also (forgive the pun) opens up the gates to some pretty interesting prospects next season. I still maintain that shutting the Gates of Hell could trap some baddies here on earth and maybe the same thing will happen with the Gates of Heaven. Monsters and angels trapped on earth with no way to get back home to do whatever it is they do when they get there? That could get interesting.

4. Castiel will sacrifice his life as an angel. Alright, before you guys think I’m crazy, just hear me out on this one. We all know that Misha is coming back next season and that he’ll have a bigger role because he’s being moved up to series regular. We also know that the title of the episode is “Sacrifice.” So, what if to close the Gates of Heaven and Hell, Cas has to choose between staying on earth or going back to Heaven? And what if choosing earth means he’ll no longer be an angel? Yeah, I know, it’s a wacky theory but I still like the idea so I’m sticking with it.

Now that I’ve given you guys my theories of what might happen in the Supernatural season 8 finale, I want to find out what YOU think. What are your theories for what will happen tomorrow night when we say goodbye to this show for the summer? Sound off in the comments below, I love hearing from you guys!
