‘Nikita’ Season 4 and ‘The Carrie Diaries’ Season 2 Announced by The CW

TV Line revealed yesterday that The Carrie Diaries and Nikita have both been renewed for the 2013-2014 season by The CW.

Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries was greenlit for a second season, while spy drama Nikita was picked up for a fourth and likely final season. There’s no word yet on the exact episode counts, but Nikita executive Craig Silverstein revealed on Twitter that his series wasn’t given a full season order, and according TV Line, the episode count could be as low as six.

Nikita and The Carrie Diaries join previously renewed CW series The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Arrow, Beauty and the Beast and Hart of Dixie. The CW has also given an early pickup to The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals.

The CW will announce their full 2013-2014 schedule on Thursday, May 16th at their annual upfront presentation.
