Is ’24’ Gonna Be Back on FOX?

We just reported here, that FOX has canceled their drama ‘Touch’, which leaves series lead actor Kiefer Sutherland available for a new project.

Well, it won’t necessarily be a new project, but a possible return to something old as Deadline has reported that FOX is looking into bringing back its “signature real-time” drama 24 as a limited series with Sutherland in talks to reprise his role of Agent Jack Bauer.

There are no specific details in place, but FOX seems to be eyeing ’24’ as “part of its recent push in limited event series”.

As many may already know, there have been efforts in the past to continue the story on the big screen, but that obviously has not worked out to date; but a return to the small screen certain seems to be in the cards as of right now.

It is being reported that the “idea to do another chapter” of the show came from Howard Gordon, who was the showrunner for ’24’ and is now executive producer of ‘Homeland’. Supposedly, the plan is to “start from scratch with a new story arc”.

We will provide updates as more details are announced.
