‘Elementary’ Heading To London For Season 2 Premiere

The first season finale of Elementary is still a week away, but CBS is already looking ahead to season two. The network announced today (May 9th) that Elementary‘s season two premiere will be filming on location in London. An old case will force Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) to return to his homeland and confront his past, while giving Joan (Lucy Liu) an opportunity to further investigate her friend’s “mysterious” past.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have this opportunity to see Sherlock’s old stomping grounds and take a closer look at a life that, until now, we’ve only been able to glimpse through the lens of his recovery,” said Executive Producer and Creator Robert Doherty in a statement. “By meeting old friends and revisiting prior cases, Watson will gain even more insight into Holmes. She’ll have to keep up with a Sherlock who is both more comfortable in his surroundings and even bolder in testing the limits of those around him.”

Perhaps, Sherlock’s visit to London will also mean we’ll finally get to meet his oft-mentioned, but thus far elusive father? We’ll have to wait until the fall to find out, but in the meantime, Elementary‘s penultimate season one episode featuring the first of three guest appearances by Game of ThronesNatalie Dormer airs tonight, Thursday, May 9th at 10/9c on CBS.
