NCIS Season 10 Review “Double Blind” – More Like a Double Cross

NCIS - Double Blind

In this episode of NCIS, called “Double Blind,” the team deals with the aftermath of Bodnar’s death and soon discovers that their problems aren’t nearly over.

This episode had a lot of great stuff going for it. First of all, Colin Hanks as the investigator was brilliant. He was so good in fact; that I kept forgetting that I wasn’t really supposed to like that character because of what he was going to do to the team.

From the spoilers and teasers I’ve seen about these final two episodes, I knew we were heading towards Gibbs being the subject of the investigation, but they did manage to fool me for a little while there when it looked like it might be about Vance. Now that we’re squarely back on Gibbs I have to say that I think this is the perfect storyline for a season 10 finale. After all these years, a lot of stuff has gone down that has been – c’mon, let’s face it – less than above-board and I’m actually relishing the idea of hashing it all out. I see a lot of juicy drama coming up in this finale and I’m feeling even more excited to see it than I was before.

And though I’m still wishing that the whole Tiva thing would die, it was nice that it wasn’t completely shoved down our throats in this one. Plus, Tony did tell Parsons that she was his “best friend” so I’m not completely insane for continuing to see their relationship as a friendship. And to those of you who are convinced that it is a romantic connection and are adamant that I need to as well, let me say something. If that happens, two things will occur. First, I will throw up; and second, I might stop watching the show. So please, let’s just agree to disagree so that I can keep watching the show I love, k?

My favorite bits..

“The world is still getting used to how you drive.”

I hate to say it, but I’m kind of with Ziva and McGee. I don’t know if I’d call him a “car killer,” but Tony certainly had had some bad luck with vehicles.

Aw, another “Ziver” from Gibbs. Wait. Make that two? Could’ve sworn I heard him say it both times.

McGee spotting the GPS tracker on Lowry’s car.

“You do realize if you keep telling us how you do your job then we’re not going to need you anymore.” – LOL! That is an excellent point.

Parsons sipping on a soda and acting like a little kid being taken on a field trip.

Tony’s little sigh when Parsons said his briefcase code was 007.

“Someone’s coming.”
“No, wrong sex.”
“Right sex, wrong time.”

Tony pointing out that he knew what time the Shabbat dinner was because he’d seen Yentl.

“How does one go to the bathroom on a stakeout?”

The annoyed look shared between McGee and Tony when their suspect started running.

“He doesn’t know who’s following you.”
“How can you be sure?”
“Because Gibbs is sure.”

Lowry and McGee both correcting Palmer when he called Lowry a “cook.”

Abby cooking bratwurst in her lab.

“My favorite thing about my job is the mystery.’Abby figure out where this bratwurst came from.'”

“And the rest is ‘Gibbstory’.”

Abby’s “Excuse me?” when Parsons accused her of not keeping up with her field. That man is lucky he didn’t end up with a skeleton oven mitt shoved in his mouth.

“Do you want to fight? Because I will fistfight you in your head right now.”

“Ziva is loyal to a fault.”
“No doubt. ‘To a fault’ is exactly how I’d put it.”

Lowry guessing that Gibbs was hanging with him to avoid Parsons.

Lowry’s whole attitude about the experiment changing as soon as he found out there was money involved.

Totally knowing that Tony was going to observe Ziva’s chat with Parson’s.

Wait. Is Ziva really trying to say that she tried to save Bodnar?

Yep, I had a feeling that the whole “Did you sleep with him?!” question wasn’t going to be about Tony, despite the way they made it look in the preview. Nice try show, but I wasn’t falling for it. LOL.

Tony coming in and ordering Parson’s out of the room. Not gonna lie. That was hot.

Ziva admitting to Tony about her “moment of weakness” in Israel.

“My Hebrew must not be as good as I thought, because I could’ve sworn that when I dropped you off at the airport, I told you that you were not alone.”

Gibbs not missing the fact that something was up between Tony and Ziva.

“I knew that guy was trouble. He’s like an evil McGee.” – Haha! The look on McGee’s face when she said that was classic.

“Waiting isn’t even one of the top hundred things I’m good at.” – I’m so with Abby on that.

“I love watching you hack. Don’t tell anyone I said that.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t.”

Gibbs’ little whistle to warn everyone that Parsons was coming.

Gibbs offering Parsons gum.

Tony running in to MTAC to get back to watch Simon.

“I like moving images.”

Everyone finding out that Ziva’s security clearance had been revoked. Uh oh.

Tony interrogating Parsons in the elevator.

“You’re messing with the wrong federal agents.”

“You’re gonna poke the bear, huh?”
“It’s effective.”
“Until the bear eats you.”

Finding out that Tony had bugged Parsons in the elevator. Brilliant.

“Hey, personal space, McGrope.”

Tony walking in on McGee camped out in his own little office. Loved that he was listening to the same kind of jazz we heard when Tony went to his place in “Cover Story.”

“I love it. I never get to listen to my own music out loud.”
“Or live in your own filth.”

Finding out that Parsons knew that he was being bugged.

“Do you take full responsibility for the actions of your team?”
“What do you think?”

What did you think of this episode of NCIS? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you!
