Could ‘Heroes’ Be Making a Comeback?

Yep, folks, you read that headline correctly? The defunct, once top-ranking, NBC superhero drama Heroes could possibly be making a comeback thanks to MSN and their “push into original programming via Xbox”.

If a report at TV Line is any indication, the series that ran for four seasons on NBC, but lost much of its luster early on, could be revived with new stories and heroes, “while mixing in cameos from the original cast (schedules and interest permitting)”.

It should be noted, however, that talks are only in the preliminary stages so the thought of “save the cheerleader, launch a new programming initiative” might be stretching things a bit, but one never really knows.

Given the fact that most of the primary cast are now busy with their careers – case in point Hayden Panettiere is one of the leads on ABC’s ‘Nashville’; Zachary Quinto is now a much-in-demand movie star thanks to ‘Star Trek’; Masi Oka has a series regular role on ‘Hawaii Five-0’; Sendhil Ramamurthy has a recurring role on The CW’s ‘Beauty And the Beast’ and Milo Ventimiglia is striking it big in independent productions – I would say cameos may not even be on their radar.

But as the old adage says, “time will tell”. Maybe ‘Heroes’ is prime for a comeback; and if that is the case, what other recently defunct series would you like to see make a comeback? Please share your thoughts in our comments section below.
