‘Glee’ Casts Patty Duke and Meredith Baxter For Season Finale

Patty Duke of ‘The Patty Duke Show’ and Meredith Baxter, who is best known for her role in the sitcom ‘Family Ties’, will play a lesbian couple in Glee’s fourth season finale, E! Online reports. The award winning actresses will also be returning in Glee’s fifth season (if Fox renews the show) as recurring characters.

Both Duke and Baxter were said to be excited over the casting and are set to mentor both Blaine and Kurt, who according to spoilers, could be entering into a union if Blaine pops the big question. Duke’s character is described as a jewelry salesperson who meets Blaine during his ring shopping excursion. She has been with Baxter’s character for 25 years and has plenty of worldly advice to offer Blaine.

According to E!, the storyline was inspired by a recent Supreme Court case involving same-sex marriages. The season four finale will air on May 9 on Fox.

Patty Duke is best known for her roles in ‘Miracle Worker’, ‘Valley of the Dolls’, ‘My Sweet Charlie’ and ‘Amazing Grace’ the TV series. She has recently appeared in ‘Hawaii Five-O’ and Lifetime’s ‘Drop Dead Diva’.

Meredith Baxter’s credits include ‘All the President’s Men’, ‘Bridget Loves Bernie’, ‘Family’ and the TV series ‘Dan vs.’.
