Fox’s ‘Axe Cop’ Trailer Features Zombies, Robots and Flying Dinosaurs

This summer, Fox will be expanding their Animation Domination brand with Animation Domination High-Def, a late night Saturday block of quarter-hour animated series. One of those series will be Axe Cop, based on the graphic novel of the same name written by brothers Malachai and Ethan Nicolle (ages five and 30, respectively). Fox debuted a trailer for the series about the cop who operates “on only two minutes of sleep a night” and is “fueled by a diet consisting solely of birthday cake” at Wondercon, which you can check out below.

Axe Cop will be voiced by none other than Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), whose droll tone is perfect for delivering lines like, “I’m imagining myself with different hair and mustache styles.” The rest of the cast is made up of a virtual who’s who of the comedy elite: Megan Mullally (Will & Grace), Patton Oswalt (Ratatouille), Ken Marino (Children’s Hospital) and Peter Serafinowicz (Shaun of the Dead).

Giancarlo Esposito (Revolution), rapper Tyler, The Creator, Jonathan Banks (Breaking Bad), Rob Huebel (Despicable Me) and Dan Harmon (Community) are all set to guest star. Nick Weidenfeld and Judah Miller (American Dad) developed the project for television.

The Animation Domination High-Def lineup will premiere Saturday, July 27th at 11PM ET/PT on Fox.
