MTV’s ‘Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous’ Trailer Mines Reality TV Culture For Laughs

Are you ready to see some footage of a “pre-celebrity”?

MTV has released the first trailer for their upcoming comedy Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous, a series about a recent high school graduate who eschews going to college in favor of making his own reality show. The series stars YouTube sensation Bo Burnham as the titular Zach Stone, and the young comedian is hilarious in the trailer, hitting just the right note between obliviously self-obsessed and neurotic. “I played the game for 12 years: grades, plays, sports– I was a bit of a Woody Allen meets Jason Statham, Ferris Bueller…” Burnham as Stone says in an especially memorable talking head. Watch the trailer below for a closer look at the series!

In addition to Burnham, the series also stars Kari Coleman (The Amazing Spider-Man) ,Tom Wilson (Back to the Future) as Mr. Stone, Cameron Palatas (A.N.T. Farm), Caitlin Gerard (Magic Mike) and Armen Weitzman (Greek).

Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous premieres Thursday, May 2nd at 10:30/9:30c on MTV.
