Netflix To Launch New Season Of ‘Arrested Development’ On May 26

Netflix has announced the premiere date for Arrested Development’s return. The video-on-demand service plans to roll out the new season from series creator/executive producer Mitchell Hurwitz on May 26. Ted Sarandos, the Chief Content Officer for Netflix, made the official announcement.

“Arrested Development is now widely viewed as one of the top TV comedies of all time and Mitch Hurwitz is bringing it to Netflix in a brand new way, crafted for the on-demand generation that has come to discover the show in the years since it last appeared on TV,” Sarandos said. Adding, “The highly anticipated return of this show is sure to make history all over again.”

‘Arrested Development’ follows the character Michael Bluth, who is played by Jason Bateman, and his quirky family. Actor Michael Cera plays his son George Michael in the series with Jeffrey Tambor on board as his father George Bluth Sr.

Jason Bateman’s on-screen mother Lucille is played by actress Jessica Walter, his brothers George Oscar Bluth II is portrayed by actor Will Arnett, Tony Hale as Buster Bluth and sister Lindsay Funke is portrayed by Portia de Rossi. On board as Lindsay’s husband Tobias is David Cross with daughter Maeby played by Alia Shawkat.

Fans will be able to watch all 15 episodes of the comedy on the day of the May 26 premiere.
