FX Networks Announces Limited Run Series

Following the announcement of the pick-up of ‘Fargo’, the FX Network plans to unveil a string of limited series. The network has now added four additional shows to their slate.

First on he list is Mayflower, an unflinching portrait of the Puritan settlers at Plymouth Colony and their uneasy alliance with the local Native Americans. The show comes from executive producer Gil Netter (Life of Pi) with the series being the producer’s first television venture. Dan Carey and Paul Giamatti (Sideways) will also serve as producers.

Also on the FX schedule is Grand Hotel. In this series, an international luxury hotel in Paris turns into a hellish trap when it becomes the center of a terrorist attack. From Richard McBrien (Merlin), the series will be executive produced by Pippa Harris (Revolutionary Road), Sam Mendes (Skyfall), and Alain & Vassili Clert (Spiral).

The third limited series is Mad Dogs, a series that follows the reunion of four forty-something guys who head to Belize to visit their old school friend.

And finally, we have Sutton, which chronicles Willie “The Actor” Sutton – Irishman, lover, folk hero, and the most prolific bank robber in American history, who stepped out of Attica Prison and boarded a plane for New York City, where he proceeded to take a reporter and photographer on a five-borough guided tour of his remarkable life and crimes. The adaption comes from Rob Siegel (The Wrestler), Jim Burke (The Descendants), Michael De Luca (The Social Network), Alexander Payne (Sideways) and Jim Taylor (Sideways).
