ReelzChannel Picks Up Canadian Drama ‘Cracked’

ReelzChannel has picked up the Canadian crime drama Cracked with plans to bring it to the US airways. The one-hour thriller was acquired by Carrie Stein, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series centers on a team of cops and psychiatric professionals who come together to form the Psych Crimes and Crisis unit.

Currently airing in Canada on the CBC network, the U.S. version will star Stefanie von Pfetten (Battlestar Galactica) as Dr. Daniella Ridley and David Sutcliffe (The Gilmore Girls) in the role of Detective Aidan Black. Together the two will make up the series’ Psych Crimes Unit. Actress Luisa D’Oliveira (50/50) is also part of the cast line-up with Dayo Ade (Unthinkable), Mayko Nguyen (Going the Distance), Karen LeBlanc (Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome) and Paul Popowich (Twice in a Lieftime). Additional details surrounding ‘Cracked’ is sure to be on the way.

ReelzChannel also has plans to bring another series to their line-up. The channel is working on an adaption of the J. Randy Taraborrelli’s book entitled ‘After Camelot: A Personal History of the Kennedy Family from 1968 to the Present’. Reelz is collaborating with producer Muse Entertainment on the miniseries.
