New ‘Under the Dome’ Trailer Promises An “Innovative, Exciting” Television Event

Under The Dome

“People’s eyes are going to bug out of their heads when they see it,” promises Stephen King in the first Under the Dome trailer, and he might just be right if the tense, bloody scenes included are any indication. Among the highlights are a shady looking burial, a driver that tries to smash their way to freedom and the haunting image of a bloody handprint on the invisible dome.

The series, based on King’s best-selling book, is set to air this summer on CBS as a 13-episode event. The story takes place in the town of Chester’s Mill where a mysterious force field traps all of the residents inside. “2,000 people secluded; it just gets pretty scary very quickly,” says Britt Robertson (The Secret Circle), who stars as Angie McAlister.

In addition to Robertson, Under the Dome also stars Colin Ford (Supernatural), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Mike Vogel (Pan Am) and Rachelle Lefevre (A Gifted Man). Lost vets Brian K. Vaughan and Jack Bender serve as executive producers.

Under the Dome will premiere June 2013 on CBS. Now that you’ve had your first look at the series, do you think you will be tuning in?
