New ‘Hemlock Grove’ Clip Features A Gruesome Werewolf Transformation

Netflix debuted an eye-popping clip from their new original series Hemlock Grove at WonderCon over the weekend (and trust me, I’m using the term “eye-popping” in the literal sense). A word of warning, the scene features a gruesome werewolf transformation that is not suitable for the squeamish or those who might be eating lunch, but it is a good indicator of the level of horror executive producer Eli Roth (Cabin Fever) has in store for viewers.

In the woods, Lili Taylor and Bill Skarsgård’s characters oversee the transformation, but only the young man seems appropriately horrified by what he’s witnessing. Either that means the whole bone-shattering, bloody mess is old hat for Taylor’s character, or she has a stomach made of iron.

Hemlock Grove is based on a novel by Brian McGreevy, and focuses on the mysterious death of a 17-year-old girl. Any one of the Pennsylvania mining town’s supernatural residents could be the murderer, including the lycanthropic star of the clip. The series stars Famke Janssen (X-Men), Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives), Bill Skarsgård (Anna Karenina), and Landon Liboiron (Terra Nova).

TV Equals was on hand at WonderCon to chat with the stars and executive producers of Hemlock Grove. Check out the interviews to get more scoop about the season ahead!

All 13-episodes of Hemlock Grove‘s first season will be available April 19th exclusively on Netflix.
