‘Baby Daddy’ Season 3 Announced

ABC Family recently announced it has renewed the comedy Baby Daddy for a third season; in fact the order came just as production wrapped on the second season of the series, which will air its premiere on Wednesday, May 29 at 9 PM.

‘Baby Daddy’ premiered to ratings success in its first season as the number one new cable comedy of Summer 2012 in key female demos, winning its time period with adults from 18 to 34 and adults 18 to 49. Paired with ABC Family’s other comedy ‘Melissa & Joey’, the series has made the network summer’s cable comedy destination on Wednesday nights.

The series stars Jean-Luc Bilodeau (‘Kyle XY’) as twentysomething Ben Wheeler who becomes a surprise dad to a baby girl when she is left on his doorstep by an ex-girlfriend. Ben decides to raise the baby with the help of his mother (Melissa Peterman of ‘Reba’ fame), his brother Danny (Derek Theler), his friend Tucker (Tahj Mowry) and Riley (Disney star Chelsea Kane), the girl next door who is harboring a secret crush on Ben.

ABC Family President Michael Riley had this to share about the renewal, the series “was an immediate success when it launched. Based on the creative strength we saw during production on Season two, and how the episodes, storylines and characters are developing, we decided to double down on this hit show and keep it in production for additional episodes. We have a great deal of faith that our brilliant creative team and wonderful cast will continue to warm our hearts and make us laugh each week”.

Again, the premiere of the third season of ‘Baby Daddy’ will air on ABC Family on May 29 at 9/8c.
