Psych Season 7 Review “Juliet Takes a Luvvah” – And Shawn Makes Out with Lassie

Psych Season 7 Episode 2 Juliet Takes a Luvvah

In this episode of Psych, called “Juliet Takes a Luvvah,” Juliet does indeed take a “luvvah,” but only because she’s working undercover to catch someone who is murdering women from a dating site. Meanwhile, Shawn hits a rough patch when Gus takes a luvvah of his own.

I know I got to watch and review the premiere episode of this season, but seeing as how that was an advance review and I didn’t get to go hog-wild with all of my favorite bits, it feels like this review is really the first one of the season for me. So, let’s get started shall we?

First up, Shawn’s parents getting back together was certainly not something I would’ve predicted back when season 6 ended last summer. But Madeline is an awesome character and Cybbil Shepherd is fantastic so I say, why not? Plus, how can you not like a story development that gave us Shawn’s utterly spectacular response to finding his parents in bed together?

Also, I am so happy that Gus has finally got himself a wonderful girl and I am extremely intrigued by the fact that she has a kid. We’ve seen Shawn and Juliet’s relationship grow ever so slowly over the years, but I wonder if Rachel having a son will cause her and Gus’ relationship to move faster. Even if it doesn’t move that fast, I still foresee a lot more challenges for the Gus man. Plus, we’ve already seen how hard it was for Shawn to handle Gus dating, and I’m guessing that’s going to continue to be a challenge for him.

Finally, there was Shawn and Juliet and the fact that they finally decided to take the big step to move in together. It’s about darn time they got around to it and, like the relationship with Gus, I can’t wait to see the kind of comedy that’s going to come from this new development. It’s great that these characters can keep growing and yet still remain basically their goofy selves so that we can sit back and giggle at them.

Overall, I say that this season is off to a great start and judging by the preview for next week’s episode, it’s going to get even better.

My favorite bits..

Shawn calling Henry “Father.”

Shawn daring his mom to take a bite of…whatever that was.

“I need to be in love, Shawn. Everyone I’ve gone out with in the last year has either been a killer or dating a killer.” – Wow, he’s got a point.

“Does Juliet know about this?”
“Yeah, I told her about it last night.”
“And you’re still alive?”

“Little known fact, they don’t actually where saddles like they do in cartoons.”

“Leave the spaghetti!”- The look on Lassie’s face when he said that was classic

Shawn finally catching on that Juliet was undercover.

“You may have just blown O’Hara’s cover and six week’s worth of work.”
“So, no cake?”

Shawn accusing Juliet of Jezebel-ing herself out to half of Santa Barbara.

“We took our first poops together. Mine was adorable. His was way too formed.” – LOL! ..and also, eeeeew.

“Don’t be the “B” from apartment 23! You’re betting than that.”

Shawn finally realizing that he was living with his parents.

Howard the Duck?? I LOVED that flick! Oh wait….maybe I shouldn’t be admitting that so freely.

Gus coming to Shawn’s defense when he saw Juliet with another man.

“What would you prefer?”
“Oh I don’t know, how about something semi-conversational like ‘you have a butt-chin’?” – Totally conversational.

Shawn and Lassie coming to Juliet’s rescue.

Shawna and Lassie fake making out to keep Juliet’s cover.

“Make it tender.”
“I’m being tender!”

Shawn coming to the defense of The Mentalist. Haha!

Shawn and his little lunch bag labeled “Goose.”

“You look like you’re late for a Whitesnake video shoot.”

“Come on, this guy? He’s a lame-chop slathered in fail sauce.”

Madeleine asking Shawn to come over so she could see how the pants fit his seat.

Shawn calling Jules and asking to make it a date night because he was going down a bad path. Aw.

“Do you have any idea what I’m going through? My girlfriend has a new boyfriend, my best friend has a girlfriend, my mom bought me shorts.”

Oh, poor Shawn. Nobody should ever have to see their parents doing that.

“Shawn, how long have you been obsessed with this man?”

Gus claiming that he was a miracle because his parents have never had sex.

“This is my partner Immaculate Conception.” – Haha! Awesome Gus nickname.

Shawn ordering a paddy wagon, a patty melt, crime scene tape and cinnamon rolls.

The triple screen split during the Shawn, Juliet, Lassie phone call.

“Oh, come on you guys, get a room!”

“You made out with a serial killer.”
“You made out with Lassiter.” – Ha! Touche, Juliet, touche.

“Home should be where you are.” – awwwwwww!

Juliet’s reaction to finding out that Shawn saw his parents having sex.

Shawn admitting that he only half-meant that he was happy for Gus.

Shawn reassuring Rachel that he wasn’t going to be accusing her of murder again anytime soon.

“I want you to know that I recognize that you and Gus pooped together.”

Shawn’s reaction to seeing Rachel’s son.

The promo for next week’s episode. That is all.
