Actors Jimmy Smits and Donal Logue Back for Season 6 of ‘Sons of Anarchy’

Actors Jimmy Smits (‘NYPD Blue’) and Donal Logue (‘Terriers’) both appeared in the fifth season of the FX drama Sons of Anarchy and both will be returning for the show’s upcoming sixth season according to TV Line and Deadline.

Smits, who appeared as “gangbanger-turned-companionator” Nero, will be reprising his role for all 13 episodes of the show’s new season while Logue will reprise his role of former U.S. Marshall Lee Toric for a major arc during the upcoming season.

Sutter shared in a December interview that he “was anxious to further examine the relationship between Nero and Gemma” (Katey Sagal), but Smits’ busy schedule “could prove to be an obstacle”. That obviously is no longer the case, but Smits will not be billed as a series regular even though he will be appearing in all of the episodes being produced for season six. As for Logue, he and Sutter had “talked for years about the former appearing on the show” so it “makes sense” that Logue is kept “around for a little longer”.

Production of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ will start in early summer with an expected fall 2013 launch.
