Actor Ron Livingston Joins Cast of ‘Boardwalk Empire’

Actor Ron Livingston, best known for his roles in the classic films ‘Office Space’ and ‘Swingers’, has joined the cast of Boardwalk Empire, the HBO period piece drama that is going into its fourth season on the cabler.

According to Deadline, he will play Roy Phillips, a “wealthy out-of-town businessman who catches the eye of Gillian Darmody (Gretchen Mol)”.

Livingston is no stranger to HBO as he recently appeared in the award-winning made-for-TV movie ‘Game Change’ as well as the award-winning drama ‘Sex And the City’. Among his other credits are roles in the box office films ‘The Odd Life of Timothy Green’, ’10 Years’, ‘going the Distance’ and ‘Dinner for Schmucks’. He also appeared in the short-lived TV shows ‘Defying Gravity’ and ‘Standoff’ as well as guest roles in ‘The Practice’ and the mini-series ‘Band of Brothers’.

The fourth season of ‘Boardwalk Empire’ is currently in production and while an official premiere date won’t be announced until later in the year, fans can expect the show to return at some point in 2013.
