Sean Patrick Flanery Added To ‘Dexter’ Season 8

Dexter has enlisted Sean Patrick Flanery for its eighth season, TV Line is reporting. Flanery is slated to play the character Jacob Elroy who is described as a former cop-turned-private eye in Miami. He joins actress Charlotte Rampling (The Avengers) who will play a neuro-psychiatrist in the eighth season.

Best known for his work in ‘The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles’, Flanery has also appeared in ‘Blackout’, ‘12 Dogs of Christmas: Great Puppy Rescue’, ‘The Devil’s Carnival’, ‘The Young and the Restless’, the crime drama ‘CSI’, Stephen King’s ‘Dead Zone’, ‘Breaking In’. He is also currently attached to ‘Phantom’, the TV movie ‘Cold Spring’, ‘Dark Power’ and ‘Broken Horses’.

‘Dexter’ is scheduled to make its return in June. As for whether or not this will be the final season for the series, Showtime’s president David Nevins would not say. “I’m not making any announcements today about when Dexter will end. I think I will clarify [things] before Dexter goes on the air [in June]. There’s a clear endgame in place, [but] I can’t talk about it just yet.” Nevins shared the news while speaking at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.
