Actress Brooke Shields Joining ‘Army Wives’

Golden Globe Award nominee and five time People’s Choice Award-winning actress Brooke Shields (‘Suddenly Susan’ and the short-lived ‘Lipstick Jungle’) is joining the long-running Lifetime military dram Army Wives.

She will play brash and brilliant Air Force Colonel Katherine “Kat” Young, who is a crack C-17 pilot who can hold her own in the boys club atmosphere of the military. She is hardly touched down in her new assignment at Joint Base Marshall-Bring before she clashes with Army General Michael Holden (series regular Brian McNamara). Never one to step away from a fight, Kat is a fierce advocate for the Air Force as she and Holden jockey for their respective branches at the highest levels of power on base. Only after their initial skirmishes does Holden learn of Kat’s tragic past, discovering they have more in common than he thought.

The series will be going through a number of cast changes – one key player will be leaving the show for good while several others won’t be seen as much this season – and cast additions as we reported here and here. But fans of the drama can rest assured that original cast members Catherine Bell, Brian McNamara and Wendy Davis are still with the show.

The 7th season of ‘Army Wives’ will air on Lifetime starting on Sunday, March 10 at 9/8c.
