Hawaii Five-0 Season 3 Review “Kapu” – Who Was Your Killer? January 20, 2013 Hawaii Five-0, Reviews In this episode of Hawaii Five-0, called “Kapu,” the team searches for a murderer and the audience gets the chance to vote on just who that person will turn out to be. Thanks to the flu, I was pretty much unconscious when this episode aired. This means that not only is my review way late, but I missed out on all the fun of voting for the bad guy. I had been really looking forward to it, too. So you guys are just going to have to tell me how it went and if you had a good time with the whole voting thing. I’m also curious who got a different ending. Out here on the west coast, the killer was Tyler Brown. Honestly I was expecting a lot from this episode after having it built up for so long. It was good, but I guess I kind of thought the story would be ultra exciting because of the voting factor. I expected there to maybe be a ticker on the bottom of the screen to say who was in the lead suspect-wise, or just to remind people to keep voting, or heck even chatting along with the episode every time one of the suspects came on screen. If CBS is thinking of doing this again, I’d suggest something like that as I would’ve felt more a part of the action that way. But I did enjoy Danny’s nephew coming for a visit. The fact that Danny never really backed down and kept telling the kid that he expected a lot from him was great. It allowed for a lot of funny moments with Eric, but also a few serious ones, too. The same could be said for the Kono and Sang storyline. Those two additions made up for what turned out to be a fairly ho-hum main story in my opinion. My favorite bits.. The kid singing “I Want it That Way.” Danny guessing that Max was probably enjoying fishing out the body parts from the tub. I think that’s a fair bet. Meeting Danny’s nephew Eric. Sang singing “Unskinny bop” in the shower and firmly planting that song in my head. Kamekona complaining how bad the shrimp were…..while still eating them. The near-panic on Danny and Steve’s faces when Eric started playing with their super fancy computer. Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Is that an actual picture of Scott Caan? “Oh, it’s low? Suck it up!” – Danny’s whole speech to Eric was awesome. I think so many idiots would improve their lives if they had an uncle like him to whip them into shape. “I’m sorry. You think I look old enough to be her father?” “That’s the part that you bumped on?” – Haha! Danny and Steve chasing down their first suspect on a scooter. I love the way Danny said “please?” when they asked her to pull over. Eric giving them the very useful tip on how to find the cheater in the class, and then finding the evidence in the trash can. “How do you know what that is?” “Duh. Discovery Channel.” Steve getting Danny to admit that he didn’t like flying with him. Funny, but who else was sad that Danny didn’t go with them to the island? “Is this how you normally apologize? Because you may want to think your approach.” “Dude, why do you have so much ranch dressing?” “Uh, because it’s delicious?” Finding out the real reason Sang escaped from Kono. Aw, now who was expecting this storyline to suddenly get so sad? Eric deciding that he’d rather work in a crime lab than deal with the stress of being a cop. Smart kid.
