L.A. Reid Leaving ‘The X-Factor’

After acquiring the super duo of Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell is back in the market for a new judge now that L.A. Reid is leaving The X-Factor after this season. As confirmed by TV Line, Reid has shared the news that he is departing the Fox series and won’t be returning for season three.

Reid announced that he plans to leave so that he can focus in on his job as CEO and chairman of Epic Records. “I have decided that I will not return to The X Factor next year. I have a company to run that I’ve kind of neglected and it saddens me a little bit, but only a little bit.” Adding that he has “a huge responsibility” to the artists of Epic. “It’s kind of time for me to stop doing the ‘me’ show.”

‘The X-Factor’ judge may be leaving but by the sounds of it he doesn’t plan to say goodbye just yet. “I’m not ruling ever coming back. I have a job to do and once I get some work done and get some momentum then maybe I’ll revisit the idea a little later.” As for who the judge wants to take his place, he has nominated rocker Jon Bon Jovi!
