‘The Inbetweeners’ Cancelled By MTV

The Inbetweeners (MTV) Class Clown

MTV doesn’t have plans to bring back the quirky group of Inbetweeners, Deadline has confirmed. Failing to make the cut for a second season, the show that chronicles four average high school boys played by actors Joey Pollari (Skyrunners), Bubba Lewis (Dirt), Zack Pearlman (Dragons: Riders of the Berk) and Mark L. Young (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) was praised by MTV in a statement but unfortunately won’t be returning. “While we won’t be moving forward with another season of ‘The Inbetweeners’, we enjoyed working with the show’s creators and such a talented, funny cast.”

Derived from the British series, ‘The Inbetweeners’ was adapted by Brad Copeland, who also served as showrunner and executive producer. Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, the creators of the original UK series, also helped produce the U.S. version of the show with the help of Aaron Kaplan.
As pointed out by the Nikki Finke outlet, the cancellation of ‘The Inbetweeners’ is due to both lackluster ratings and a recent change in MTV’s programming department that saw David Janollari exit his post to be replaced by Susanne Daniels.

What do you think Inbetweeners? Should MTV have stuck it out for one more season with the guys? Leave us your thoughts below.
