Hawaii Five-0 Season 3 Review “Wahine’inoloa (Evil Woman)” – Steve’s Obsession and Catherine’s Secret Mission

Hawaii Five-0 Season 3 Episode 8 Wahine'inoloa (Evil Woman)

In this episode of Hawaii Five-0, called “Wahine’inoloa (which translates to “Evil Woman”), Steve finds himself obsessed by an unusual suspect and Catherine is off on a secret mission of her own.

When I saw the previews for this episode, I figured that the story of the therapist could go one of two ways: Either she was completely guilty and everyone would see that Steve was right, or it would turn out that she was innocent and Steve would see that he’d been reading too much into her behavior. While I was mostly right about the first part, in that she was indeed guilty, I didn’t expect the bit about her not being a therapist, but a prostitute. That was a fun little twist that I enjoyed very much and it instantly made the woman’s behavior make a lot more sense. Before that I just couldn’t wrap my head around why Olivia would keep acting the way that she was, with all the seduction and not answering Steve’s questions.

The other big story in this episode was of course Catherine basically going off on her own to help Doris. Of course I should’ve known that Doris wouldn’t need much help and I don’t think I’ll get the image of Steve’s mother torturing a guy out of my mind any time soon. Doris and Catherine having this big secret from Steve now is very interesting and I wonder how long it will take before he finds out, and what he will do when that happens.

My favorite bits..

Catherine totally kicking Agent Channing’s ass.

“Okay so he was shot, burned and hit by a car. Wow this guy was having a great day.”

“You didn’t answer the question.”
“Neither did you.”

Being extremely confused by the fact that Olivia was doing anything but answering McGarrett’s questions.

“That’s a theory.”
“It’s my gut.
“Okay does your gut have any evidence that we can bring to a prosecutor?”

Okay seriously, why is no one else seeing what Steve is seeing? This woman is bizarre at the very least.

Cargument! Yes!

“You accused her of murder! How was she supposed to look at you? I’d say that was remarkably courteous.”

“You got a problem with shrinks?”
“I got a problem with shrinks who kill their patients and then lie about it.”

“There’s no way he survived that.”
“You did.”

“I can’t just give you that file.”
“Sure you can, I asked you nice.”

“Why, you’re handwriting that bad?”
“No, I was referring to your reading comprehension skills.

Doctor Victor asking if Steve was having mommy or daddy issues. Oh boy, that’s a good way to get yourself shot, lady.

Kind of thinking that Danny had a point about Doctor Victor challenging Steve and him not liking it.

“Do you charge by the hour?”

Danny happily announcing to Steve that Olivia got a restraining order against him.

“You’re so beautiful when you’re sarcastic.”

“How close can you get?”
“500 yards.”
“Oh god, you’ve never been good at first impressions.”

Catherine spotting that something was really up with Steve and this wasn’t a joke.

“You’re like a bad penny, Commander.” – Oops! Caught.

Totally knowing that Olivia was going to call the cops on Steve.

Catherine totally pulling a “Steve” and escaping by jumping off the balcony to the floor below. Nice!

OMG Danny is driving his car again!

“It gets very interesting at the five-minute mark, but I’ll spare everyone in the room.”

Being very sad that the boys were in the car together, but didn’t have another cargument. Sigh.

Catherine calling Chin to ask him to track the GPS on a car.

Steve figuring out that Olivia wasn’t leaving on a plane..and showing up in front of her cab with a gun.

“When you’re right, you’re right, buddy.”

“Book’er Danno.” – Ha! Have we ever gotten one of those before?

Catherine walking into the warehouse to find Doris torturing a man with a car battery. Whoa!

Catherine agreeing to keep Doris’ secret.
