Chevy Chase Leaves ‘Community’ Behind

Community The First Chang Dynasty Season 3 Episode 20 (7)

Veteran actor Chevy Chase is departing the NBC TV series Community, Deadline has confirmed. Chase’s decision to leave doesn’t come as a surprise. The comedian, who plays Pierce Hawthorne on the show, has been vocal for quite sometime now about his distaste for the comedy’s dialogue, his character’s arc and more. Just last year Chase took part in a public war of words with the sitcom’s now former showrunner Dan Harmon.

The 69-year old wasn’t shy when talking to The Huffington Post UK last year as well, referring to his commitment to ‘Community’ as a “big mistake!” Adding, “I just sort of hung around because I have three daughters and a wife, and I figured out I might as well make some bread, every week, so I can take care of them in the way they want … The hours are hideous, and it’s still a sitcom on television, which is probably the lowest form of television.”

Chase will be seen in most of Season 4 that will premiere on the network February 7th when the show resumes its position in the 8pm timeslot. Who will miss the actor if ‘Community’ manages to land a renewal? Let us you know what you think below.
