Hart of Dixie Season 2 Review “Baby, Don’t Get Hooked on Me” – The Flash Mob

Hart Of Dixie Season 2 Episode 7 Baby, Don’t Get Hooked on Me

Romance was blooming in Bluebell in “Baby, Don’t Get Hooked on Me,” this week’s episode of Hart of Dixie, and it started with the mayor. Yes, after their public, post-election hook-up, Lavon and Ruby skipped all that crazy dating stuff and went straight to the sleepovers. All right, in all actuality they were just letting history repeat itself, but it was a little sudden, especially considering that no one really wants them to be together.

Zoe wasn’t even ready to think about forgiving Ruby for all the things she did during the election; they’re not going to be having coffee and chatting any time soon. Lemon was about to have kittens she was so upset about the man she still loves going with a woman she’s vowed to hate. And Ruby’s grandfather wanted Lavon dead and castrated, not necessarily in that order.

Dealing with Gramps wasn’t easy, but Lavon managed to win him back over. He really just didn’t want Ruby to get tied down in Bluebell, but Ruby was adamant that she just wants to be in love. Wonder how long that will last? I’m guessing not indefinitely.

Meanwhile, Zoe got wrapped up in a case of puppy love after Rose’s latest crush, a cute football player, fell for Zoe when she treated the team for athlete’s foot. The kid needed a lucky charm to win the big game, so for a couple of days the entire town embraced pedophilia and encouraged Zoe to date a minor. Of course, eventually she had to break it off, temporarily earning back that “Most Hated Citizen” badge she used to wear all the time, but with a good pep talk, she got the kid onto the field where he won the game. And there was much rejoicing in the town!

Zoe even got something out of it, something beyond the town’s fair-weather friendship. Seeing a sixteen year old woo Zoe made Wade open up a bit to his romantic side. Of course, he was still a jerk to her along the way, but he won Zoe (and me) over with his homemade black and white cookies. He does have a romantic bone in his body, but it’s buried really deeply.

During all of this, a heart-broken Lemon tried to throw herself into a new venture, a catering business with Annabeth, but her BFF had already secretly started one, wanting her own post-divorce project. George hired Annabeth to cater a birthday party for a judge, but he soon realized that while Annabeth made the better food, Lemon was the master organizer. With his nice guy powers, he managed to get the two friends to make up and start that business together.

So much love and quiche and more love. And it’s not even Valentine’s Day, y’all! Maybe by then Wade will learn that the most romantic thing a man can do for a woman is not to laugh at the crazy situations she gets herself into, but to hold her hand through it and laugh his butt off about it at home.
