‘Elementary’ Receives Coveted Post-Super Bowl Slot

Every year – regardless of which network airs the big event – the timeslot directly after the Super Bowl is THE place to be. This year the big winner is the new CBS hit drama Elementary.

The Super Bowl will air on Sunday, February 3 with a special episode of the modern-day take on Sherlock Holmes airing directly afterward at 10/9c (time approximate based on post-game coverage).

‘Elementary’ stars Jonny Lee Miller (‘Eli Stone’) as eccentric, mischievous detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu (‘Southland’) as Dr. Joan Watson, a former surgeon turned sober companion. Following his fall from grace in London and a stint in rehab, Sherlock escapes to Manhattan where his wealthy father forces him to live with his worst nightmare – a sobriety coach. Now running free in New York solving crimes, it’s simple deduction that he’s going to need someone to keep him grounded, and it’s elementary that it’s a job for Watson.

Since its debut in late September, ‘Elementary’ has averaged 14.2 million viewers, ranking as the #2 new series on CBS. The series is also performing well internationally, ranking as the #1 new series in Canada, and ranking #3 in the U.K.
