TV Beauty Sarah Shahi to Recur on ‘Chicago Fire’

While the fate of the third season of the USA Network ‘Fairly Legal’ is still up in the air, actress Sarah Shahi, who plays mediator Kate Reed in that series, will be moonlighting on the new NBC drama Chicago Fire.

According to TV Line, Shahi will be appearing in about six episodes of the Dick Wolf produced drama as Renee Royce, a successful business woman and love interest for Lt. Kelly Severide (played by actor Taylor Kinney).

As a refresher, ‘Chicago Fire’ – which just debuted on NBC on October 10 – follows the lives of the firefighters and paramedics working at the Chicago Fire Department, including cast members Jesse Spencer (‘House’), the aforementioned Kinney, Lauren German (‘Hawaii Five-0’), Monica Raymund (‘Lie to Me’), Eamonn Walker (‘Kings’), David Eigenberg (‘Sex and the City’), Teri Reeves (‘General Hospital’), Merle Dandridge (‘Sons of Anarchy’) and newcomer Charlie Barnett.

Among Shahi’s other TV credits include ‘Alias’, ‘Dawson’s Creek’, the pilot episode of ‘Supernatural’, ‘The L Word’ and the acclaimed short-lived series ‘Life’ (with Emmy winner and ‘Homeland’ star Damian Lewis). Her box office films include ‘Old School’ and ‘A Lot Like Love’.

The next new episode of ‘Chicago Fire’ will air tonight (October 31) on NBC at 10/9c.
