‘Hell on Wheels’ Season 3 Announced

The western-themed drama Hell on Wheels has been given a third season renewal by cable network AMC less than a month after airing its two-hour second season finale.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the cabler has given the series a 10-episode order, but there is no word on when that third season will air; however viewers can anticipate it to return sometime next year.

‘Hell on Wheels’ stars Anson Mount (‘Third Watch’ and the short-lived ‘The Mountain)’ as Cullen Bohannan, a former soldier and slaveholder, who follows the track of some Union soldiers, the killers of his wife. This search puts him in the middle of one of the biggest projects in US history: the building of the transcontinental railroad. The series also stars Colm Meaney (‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’), rapper-turned-actor Common (‘Wanted’ and ‘Terminator: Salvation’), Dominique McElligott (‘Leap Year’) and Christopher Heyerdahl (‘Sanctuary’ and ‘The Twilight Saga’ franchise) [among others].
