Rapper-Singer Wyclef Jean Doing Arc on ‘Nashville’

Wyclef Jean, the rapper, singer, politician and record producer extraordinaire, will appear on the new ABC music-based drama Nashville for a multi-episode arc.

As TV viewers should know by now, ‘Nashville’ stars Connie Britton (‘Friday Night Lights’ and ‘American Horror Story’) as Rayna James, an aging country music superstar and Hayden Panettiere (‘Heroes’) as Juliette Barnes, the up-and-comer country cross-over star who are competing against each other for more than just their careers.

Jean will appear as character that seems close to home: the head of a music label. It will prove to be interesting to find out how his character will play into the lives of the ensemble cast that includes newcomer Clare Bowen (‘Home and Away’), Sam Palladio (‘Episodes’), Eric Close (‘Without a Trace’), Jonathan Jackson (‘General Hospital), Charles Esten (‘Big Love’), Robert Wisdom (‘Prison Break’) and legendary actor Powers Boothe.

This isn’t Jean’s first time on TV, though, as he has appeared in episodes of ‘Third Watch’, ’30 Rock’ and ‘Glee’.

The next new episode of ‘Nashville’ will air on Wednesday, October 31 on ABC at 10/9c. [Source: The Hollywood Reporter]
