CBS Gives Freshmen Series ‘Elementary’ and ‘Vegas’ Full Season Orders

Good news for Elementary and Vegas fans: CBS gave both series full season (“back nine”) orders today. According to CBS, Vegas has ranked as the #1 new series of the fall, winning its time slot and scoring big in key demographics. Elementary takes the #2 new series spot, also routinely winning its time slot and improving CBS’s ratings in the Thursday at 10:00 p.m. hour by “+17% in adults 18-49 and +10% in adults 25-54.”

VEGAS and ELEMENTARY have opened strong, delivering big audiences and winning performances in important time periods,” said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment, in a press release. “Each of the shows has rich characters, big stars and a unique visual style that have stood out in the crowd, helping make two of our strongest nights even stronger.”

Elementary stars Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu as the iconic crime solving duo Sherlock and Watson. The series airs Thursdays at 10:00 p.m., while the ’60s set Vegas stars Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis, and airs Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. on CBS.
