Hallmark Channel Gives First-Ever Drama Series Order to ‘Cedar Cove’

The Hallmark channel has made an official series order for their first-time ever primetime drama Cedar Cove that is based on the beloved book series of the same name by best-selling author Debbie Macomber.

The series will star Andie MacDowell (‘Jane by Design’) as Judge Olivia Lockhart whose Cedar Cove Municipal Court is the professional milieu and social microcosm of issues the judge will face in her own day-to-day life with family and friends. Dylan Neal (‘Blood Ties’) will plays Jack Griffith, the new editor of the Cedar Cove Chronicle, and budding love interest for Judge Lockhart.

The creative team behind the new series will include Carl Binder as the showrunner as well as executive producers Dan Wigutow, Caroline Moore and Michael Scott, who were responsible for the cabler’s top-rated original movies, ‘Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle’, ‘Debbie Macomber’s Call Me Mrs. Miracle’ and ‘Debbie Macomber’s Trading Christmas’.

‘Cedar Cove’ will begin with a two-hour sneak peek on Saturday, January 19 at 9/8c on the Hallmark Channel and then the series is scheduled to debut next spring.
