Star Trek Alum George Takei to Guest on 'Hawaii Five-0'

Actor George Takei is, of course, best known for his legendary role of Sulu in the cult-classic ‘Star Trek’ TV series and all of the earlier movie incarnations of the cultural phenomenon; but soon he will be making a guest appearance on the CBS reboot of yet another classic TV series: Hawaii Five-0

According to TV Guide, Takei will play the uncle of Chin (series regular Daniel Dae Kim). But the big question is if he will play Kono’s (series regular Grace Park) father? Easy answer: Nope! He will play her uncle as well. Sadly, though, there seem to be no other details on what character he will be playing or any hints on what the episode will be about. What is known, though, is that his episode is slated to air in December.

For Takei it could be a reunion of sorts because series regular Masi Oka (who plays Dr. Max Bergman in the Hawaii based series) played his son in the NBC series ‘Heroes’. In the meantime, TV viewers can expect to see Takei show up on the new NBC comedy ‘The New Normal’.

‘Hawaii Five-0′ will air its next new episode from its third season on Monday, October 29 at 10/9c on CBS. TV viewers should note that another Presidential debate will be held next Monday, holding up most of the major networks’ programs for one week.
