Tina Fey, Amy Poehler To Host ‘The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards’

The funniest ladies of prime time, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will be co-hosting The 70th Golden Globe Awards it has been announced. Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly, the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, broke the news that both Fey and Poehler will headline the January event that will air on NBC. “The unparalleled comedic timing of Tina and Amy will surely have viewers wanting to tune-in to see them in action,” Takla-O’Reilly noted. Adding, “The HFPA is thrilled to have the magnetic duo be a part of the show’s 70th anniversary!”

Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming for NBC Entertainment, was equally thrilled about scoring two of the biggest names in comedy. “Having both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on board to host this year’s festivities is a major coup. Tina and Amy have a proven chemistry and comedic timing from their many years together on SNL to their successful co-starring roles in ‘Baby Mama.’”

Currently Fey is the star and creator in ‘30 Rock’ alongside Alec Baldwin and is widely known for her portrayal of Sarah Palin on ‘Saturday Night Live’. She is also busy working on the forthcoming movie ‘Admission’. Amy Poehler boasts the same success. She is not only part of ‘Parks and Recreation’, but is working on a slew of new movie roles that includes the 2013 ‘You Are Here’ and ‘A.C.O.D’.

‘The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards’ is scheduled to air next year on Sunday, January 13th live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
