FOX Gives Full Season Order to Both ‘Ben and Kate’ and ‘The Mindy Project’

It was announced yesterday afternoon by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment at FOX, that the new sitcoms Ben and Kate and The Mindy Project have been given full season orders.

Reilly shared in a statement that “‘Ben and Kate’ and ‘The Mindy Project’ have everything we want to stand for in comedy: smart writing, hugely appealing casts and comedy that feels contemporary and real – which is why we’re confident they will continue to build on what is already an appointment comedy night for young, influential audiences on Tuesdays”.

As it stands, ‘Ben and Kate’ have been given six additional episodes while ‘The Mindy Project’ was given nine additional episodes, giving both shows the much-anticipated full-season order that all new shows desire.

‘Ben and Kate’ centers on the lives of a brother and sister who are exact opposites: Ben, the over-the-top dreamer, while younger sister Kate is a single mother trying to make ends meet as a bar manager. The series stars Dakota Johnson, Nat Faxon, Lucy Punch, Echo Kellum and Maggie Elizabeth Jones.

‘The Mindy Project’ stars Mindy Kaling as a single physician with a unique personality, trying to navigate through her personal and professional life. The cast includes Chris Messina, Anna Camp, Zoe Jarman, Amanda Setton and Stephen Tobolowsky.

The next new episodes of ‘Ben and Kate’ and ‘The Mindy Project’ will air tonight on FOX at 8:30/7:30c and 9:30/8:30c respectively.
