White Collar’s Tim DeKay to Play Against Type in ‘Body of Proof’

Actor Tim DeKay is best known for his current role as FBI Agent Peter Burke on the popular USA Network drama ‘White Collar’ (which just aired its fall finale earlier this week), but next spring he will be playing against type in an episode of the ABC medical procedural Body of Proof.

According to a report at TV Line, DeKay will play a “forbidding, deeply religious father whose teenage daughter dies dramatically in the ER”. The creepy part is she could have been possessed by none other than the devil if the projectile vomit on the hospital walls and thewords “Lick me!” coming from her lips before her death are any indication.

As a refresher, ‘Body of Proof’ stars Dana Delany as Dr. Megan Hunt, who was a top-flight neurosurgeon until she accidentally killed a patient on the operating table. She ended up resigning and ended up working for the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s office, using her medical knowledge and investigative instincts to solve the medical mysteries of the dead.

Among DeKay’s other TV credits included recurring roles in ‘Tell Me You Love Me’, ‘Carnivale’, ‘Everwood’ and ‘Party of Five’ as well as guest appearances on ‘Chuck’, ‘Scrubs’, ‘CSI: Miami’, ‘NCIS’, ‘Numb3rs’ and ‘Cold Case’ [among many others]. He also appeared in the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie ‘The Russell Girl’ and Danielle Steel’s ‘The Ring’. He also had small roles in the box office films ‘Swordfish’ and ‘Get Smart’.

‘Body of Proof’, now in its third season, is expected to return to ABC in early 2013.
