’30 Rock’ to be Visited by Catherine O’Hara and Bryan Cranston

30 Rock Catherine O'Hara Bryan Cranston

The popular NBC sitcom 30 Rock has introduced a number of the extended family members of its cast of characters and coming this fall the fans will get to see another pair join those ranks. This time around it will be relatives of the one and only Kenneth Parcell (Jack McBrayer).

Actress Catherine O’Hara (‘Best in Show’ and ‘Penelope’) will appear as Kenneth’s mom while actor Bryan Cranston (‘Breaking Bad’) will be his mom’s “friend” Ron. At this time it is unclear in which episode the duo will appear or the reason for their visit; but according to a report at TV Guide, it could be due to Kenneth and Hazel (Kristen Schaal), who will be “engaged in a non-sexual boyfriend-girlfriend thing”. Due to this relationship it is possible that his mom and the man that Kenneth loathes will be there to “counsel him on the facts of life”.

O’Hara got her start on ‘SCTV’ and then appeared in box office films ‘Beetlejuice’, ‘Dick Tracy’, ‘Home Alone’, ‘Wyatt Earp’ and ‘A Mighty Wind’ [among others]. She also appeared in the award-winning made-for-TV movie ‘Temple Grandin’. Whereas, Cranston has a long resume of appearances in TV and film, but he is best known for his work on the comedy ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ as well as his roles in the films ‘Little Miss Sunshine’, ‘Drive’, ‘John Carter’, ‘Rock of Ages’ and ‘Total Recall’.

’30 Rock’ will begin its seventh and final season on NBC on October 4.
