Director M. Night Shyamalan, TV Producer Marti Noxon, Syfy and Universal Cable Productions Team on ‘Proof’

A deal has been finalized between feature film director M. Night Shyamalan (‘The Sixth Sense’ and ‘Signs’), television producer Marti Noxon (‘Buffy, the Vampire Slayer’ and ‘Mad Men’), Syfy and Universal Cable Productions on the new pilot project called Proof that will focus on the son of a billionaire tech genius who offers a large reward to anyone who can find proof of life after death after the tragic accident and sudden death of his parents.

Shyamalan and Noxon will co-write the project, serving as Executive Producers alongside Ashwin Rajan, the head of Shyamalan’s Blinding Edge label. Universal Cable Productions will produce while Shyamalan will direct the pilot.

This will be Shyamalan’s first step into scripted television after working on other films like ‘Unbreakable’, ‘Lady in the Water’ and ‘The Last Airbender’ as well as recently finishing the latest Will Smith film ‘After Earth’.

Noxon has worked on other TV shows like ‘Angel’, ‘Prison Break’, ‘Point Pleasant’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Private Practice’ and ‘Glee’. she also wrote the screenplays of the box office films ‘Fright Night’ and ‘I Am Number Four’. She is currently working on the script for the film adaptation of ‘The Glass Castle’, a 2005 memoir by Jeannette Walls.

Since this is an in-development project, no casting has been done yet nor an airdate announced by Syfy.
