Common Law (USA) “Hot For Teacher” Review – How Hot is Too Hot?

Common Law (USA) Hot For Teacher

In this episode of Common Law, called “Hot for Teacher,” the boys deal with something that has plagued everyone at one time or another – having dreams about the most inappropriate person in your life.

But once again, this episode wasn’t all about the comedy that came from the fact that first Wes, and then Travis was having sex dreams about Dr. Ryan. That bit was played out for a few laughs but then things got pretty serious when her fiancé came onto the scene. Once the guys find out that Robert was lying about some of the details involving his attack, they decide that it’s up to them to protect the good doc.

What happens next, I have to say, caught me completely off guard. That Wes and Travis would take it upon themselves to handle Robert’s case was pretty much par for the course. After all, they are the best and they also thought that there was a need to protect her. When the truth comes out about Robert and it turns out that’s really all he was trying to do too – protect his fiancé – I thought we’d have a nice, happy ending. But the case is not as simple as that and when Dr. Ryan gets wind of everything she gets so angry that she cuts all three of them out of her life. She not only breaks off her engagement but tells the boys that they need to find a new therapist. She’s been so calm, cool and collected this whole season that it never occurred to me that there could be a situation that would rile her up like this. Though the fact that “riled up” for her is calmly announcing to the guys that she’s found a new doctor for them is right up her alley.

Now there’s only one episode left and from the previews I can already tell that it’s probably going to end up being my favorite of this season. I know a lot of you don’t watch previews so I shall say no more, but let’s just say that I’m very happy that I get to watch the episode early so that I can post an advance review for you folks. Stay tuned for that next Friday morning.

My favorite bits..

Oh boy, here comes Wes’ naughty dream.

Hm, finding this conversation very interesting considering it’s all happening in Wes’ head.

“Get up, get up, get up, get uuuuuup!” – I have an overwhelming desire to make this a ringtone so I can in turn make it my alarm.

Wes trying to oh, so casually ask Travis if he dreams about Dr. Ryan. Smooth Wes, very smooth.

“Confide in me, brother! Trust me, I wanna hear ALL the details.” Haha! Now who’s being the dirty dog?

Travis asking if Dr. Ryan was “nakkid.”

Okay seriously, USA and TNT are messing with my head this week. First “Hardman” made an appearance on Franklin and Bash and now Karp is on this show.

Wes turning into a bumbling idiot in front of Dr. Ryan’s fiancé.

Robert realizing that the cops his fiancé was working with, were Wes and Travis.

The way Wes said “Robert.” Haha.

“That guy blow dries his hair.”

Whoa! Nice flying tackle there, Wes.

Travis pointing out to the idiot that he could still see his face through the catcher’s mask.

Yes! Nice shot captain!

Robert lied about his attack? Hmm..intriguing.

Oh boy, there is soooooo a body in there.

“We were naughty, but you know a little something about that don’t you?”

“Just go to the session and be your usual stupid selves.”

The captain admitting that he had sex dreams about Dr. Ryan, too. Awkward.

Wes describing his dreams as being “scintillating.”

Dr. Ryan asking Travis if he was dreaming about her, too. Ha ha, suddenly I don’t think Wes is embarrassed anymore..oh wait, that’s a dream too. Haha, I totally got fooled by the beginning of that one. Nicely done, show.

“How much of that did you hear?”
“Only the good parts.”

Wes distracting the dog with his badge, and pointing out that it was shiny “like a human liver.” Ha!

“Why would you think I wanted plastic surgery?”

“I had like two; you had a hundred.”

Wes smacking Travis for asking if Dr. Ryan is going to get up and take off her clothes.

The boys finding out that they weren’t the only ones having dirty dreams about Dr. Ryan.

“My nose isn’t set yet!”
“My bad.”

Yes! Nice save by the captain. Can’t believe the lawyer actually tried to run out of a police station.

The boys defending Robert…and then Dr. Ryan terminating their therapy??? Whoa. I was so not expecting that.

Yep, I knew that was going to turn out to be their new therapist.
