Veep Star Anna Chlumsky to Guest on ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’

With the fall season not that far off, the networks are announcing more and more guest stars for their returning shows.

According to TV Guide, actress Anna Chlumsky, who is part of the cast for the new HBO comedy ‘Veep’, will make a guest appearance on the long-running police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

She will play the author of a best-selling erotic novel (“50 Shades of Grey”, anyone?) who accuses a high-profile talk show host (Roger Bart, ‘Revenge’ and ‘Political Animals’) of a brutal rape. However, the SVU squad gets suspicious when they discover her account of the rape mimics the chapters in her book. The squad, along with the DA’s office (Broadway star Raúl Esparza), also struggles to keep the case from turning into a media frenzy. The episode is expected to air later this fall.

As most movie goers know, Chlumsky had her first big break in the box office film ‘My Girl’ and in more recent years has appeared in episodes of the short-lived shows ‘Cupid’ and ‘Lights Out’ as well as episodes of ‘Covert Affairs’, ‘White Collar’, ‘Law & Order’ and ‘Army Wives’. She was also in the made-for-TV movies ’12 Men of Christmas’ and ‘Three Weeks, Three Kids’.

‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ will return for its 14th season on NBC starting on Wednesday, September 26 at 9/8c.
